For one of my projects I have been looking for some contemporary floor lamps. Because the space is big – open plan living, dining and kitchen, I wanted a statement lamp which would be quite architectural but not too fussy. I need two to go on either side of the leather corner sofa which will be placed in the middle of the room. I was searching for lamps that are not too fussy in design because the space will be quite minimalistic/contemporary. Imagine pale walls, porcelain flooring and Italian leather sofa and high gloss white furniture. Here are my 3 options which I have narrowed down:
1. Tripod floor lamp
This is the best option for the space as the legs spread into different directions creating a tall sculpture-like effect.
There are several choices on the market but, in this case, I went for slim chrome or stainless steel legs. Like this one.
There are also some “chunky leg” models like these..
2. Contemporary floor lamp
Lirio by Philips, £300.00
This one is pretty straight forward. Simple and contemporary design with square or rectangle shade.
3. Floor lamp with glass shade
Lirio by Philips, £320.00
This is a typical Italian design floor lamp which is now very trendy for contemporary interiors. I love the transparent glass or acrylic shade over the milk white mushroom inner shade. It’s modern yet timeless.
Which one would you choose?
