Girl’s bedroom upgrade

Did you know that kids go through at least 4 stage room changes from the time they are born to when they are ready to leave home? This little client girl is growing up. She’s moving away from princesses (and Barbies) and wants something more sophisticated and “grown up”.

My starting point for this project was this inexpensive wallpaper from Albany, which she absolutely loves. Not sure whether it’s clear enough on the pictures but it has a metallic silver background with painted colourful flowers and butterflies. Here it is across larger scale.

The paper gave me lots to play with in terms of the colour scheme. It’s actually so pretty in real life. A real girly paper that will last for years. Available in these two other colours.

I’m pleased that I got the desk glass lamp approved with the funky colourful shade designed by Anna Jacobs, who I discovered on one of my recent trade trips. I love her work. There are also these beautiful table lamps in the collection.

Can’t wait to start this project in August. Stay tuned!
