I have been busy today installing a bedroom for my 6 years old daughter. As you can see, she loves Barbie. She wanted to keep the existing wall with Ariel mermaid mural. She also requested a small desk, where she can do her school work.
Her bedroom is tiny, so I had to make sure that she keeps it clutter free.
Her favourite colours are turquoise, orange and purple. Have a look at the design board, which she liked the most.
I painted the remaining 3 walls white but to keep them interesting I introduced painted picture frames – a nice afternoon project, very messy though!
A painting of a dog from her big sister adds a personal touch.
I have decided to introduce purple on the floor to balance the colours and tie the whole scheme together.
We also painted the existing display shelf in lime yellow which injects a bit of fun above the book cabinet. I replaced a little baby chair, she had in the room, with a new pouff, which she absolutely loves. At the moment, it’s little bit plain so stay tuned for the transformation.
A new writing desk with a drawer stores all stationery, pens and paper. Her favorite toys are displayed on the shelf and all remaining toys are neatly stored in the storage boxes under the bed for easy access.. including a dressing up box, which used to be stored high up in the wardrobe!
I’m so pleased how the room turned out. She will get a big surprise after school!
