Nothing gets me more excited than seeing new talents coming into the design industry. Last weekend I went to New Designers in London which showcases students work in textile, fashion and ¬†graphic design. I must say that this was my first time and it was the best exhibition I went to this year so far. ¬†It’s so exciting to see product designs before they actually go on the market.
Here are my top designs which caught my eye. All pics are taken by moi on iPhone.
The first thing you notice is the colours. I’m so pleased that the young generation is embracing it in every possible way. The main areas of design I noticed in terms of pattern was 1/ using mixed fibres such a silk, linen and velvets with metallic overlays, 2/ tropics theme, and 3/ botanical and nature inspired theme. Maybe¬†these themes were the¬†briefs for the students as their project for the show¬†and that’s why they were in majority. In any case, bang on trend!
