New wallpaper for living room

Before Christmas I hung this sunburst mirror, which I completely forgot about, in our living room. By the way, our Lily is modelling in her favourite position on the sofa. As you can see she wasn’t very happy with me while I was snapping away!! Now, where was I..yes,¬†the mirror. I bought it last January on sale from Joss & Main. Yes, it’s been in our garage for almost a year buried under boxes!!! It’s from one of my favourite go-to suppliers, Safavieh. They sell their products over here in the UK through Achica, Casafina and Joss & Main, which I learnt is now part of Wayfair UK.

Anyway, the wallpaper needs to go. I want the copper mirror to be the star. To have a nice graphic backdrop so it can stand out more. So I’m changing the wall to this..

Now the wallpaper is actually much lighter than it shows on the drawing. I have a sample here, in the studio, and it looks like this.. Notice there is a slight shimmer going on.

And here are the other colour options in this Harlequin collection range.

I’m also getting this 3 arm floor lamp from Habitat and new side tables from Dwell. I painted our fireplace and the antique side cabinet but I’m really missing the warmth of real wood. ¬†I think the new side tables will look great against the wallpaper too.

Ideally, I would like to get a new sofa as well but that’s not going to happen for a while. We’ve had it for about 12 years now and it’s actually a sofa bed so it’s very convenient for extra sleepovers. It’s old but it looks alright ..when it’s clean. If we got a new one I’d be obsessing over the smallest marks, which would drive everybody else nuts.

I might still change my mind but for now I’m pretty happy with it. Stay tuned!
