Wow, what a week it has been!! Sorry about the lack of posting. If you are a regular reader you know that I¬†always¬†post few times¬†a week but this past week was absolutely crazy. This kitchen of mine almost killed me. Literally. As I was hanging and holding onto the wall cabinet’s door trying to hang the wallpaper. It was hard and physically demanding and exhausting, which resulted in agonising backache for a few days, but it was so much fun too!
Apart from my older daughter’s help during the half term break, I did it ALL myself. I painted the ceiling, walls, cabinets, doors, skirting and tiles. I diyed our old Ikea pendant and bar table. I hung the wallpaper and gave our bar stool makeover. (Sadly the fabric I ordered only arrived today so I still have to sew new covers). What else? I can’t even remember now. The list goes on and on.
Anywho. Let me remind you where I started 6 weeks ago..(*cringe* awful, horrible, can’t even look at it. Skip.)
And here is how it looks now..(warning: photos taken with my iPhone so the quality is not that great, I’m planning to do a proper photo shoot next week.)
You can see how I got here by seeing the plans and progress over the last 5 weeks. I really tried my best to stick to my budget and stretched it as far as I could. In¬†the end I spent just under ¬£390/$590.There is still few details to finish up but overall I’m pleased how it turned out. I even managed to organise the inside of the cabinets which is so nice. Every time I open it, I go “wow that’s so clean and tidy!! Everything seems sort of more visible. Even the smallest things. Now I know where things are and what we have. It’s a great feeling actually. I love it.
I will write a follow up post with all the resources and more details. So if you don’t want to miss that, subscribe via email or Bloglovin. But for now, I’m going to sit down and put my feet up for a bit. Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to see how ORC designers and other guest participants got on with their project reveals. I’m going to be going through them all over the next few days. Lastly, a massive THANK YOU to Linda at Calling it Home who organises the One Room Challenge events. Over the past 6 weeks I discovered¬†some really great creative ladies who I wouldn’t have met otherwise. ¬†THANK YOU so so much!! xkb
