Artist in spotlight: Lola Donoghue

One of the best ways how to make your home unique to YOU, and how you can express your style and personality in your home is through ART. I love abstract art. I think if you’re not arty person or don’t really understand it then abstract is your starting point. You don’t really have to understand it as much. It’s more about the feeling which is triggered. Something that speaks to you…that makes a connection on subconscious level.

I came across Lola Donoghue on Etsy. When I saw her work I thought I had to share it with you guys because it’s soooo gooood!  Check out some of her work…

She also does fashion illustrations. LOVE this one!

Her surrounding, background knowledge and interests are her main inspirations for creating these beautifully original acrylic and oil paintings. She is based in Galway, Ireland. Her art is very affordable too. Starting just on £65 onwards.

In her studio…

Go and check her full portfolio and gallery on Etsy here. She has over 60 painting and prints there. Loads to choose from. Great for any colour scheme and interior. You can’t go wrong with these babies!

To show you how art can be your starting point when deciding on your colour scheme I quickly put this board together building the colour scheme, textures and finishes with the colours from this painting. Take a look…
