Boy’s room on a budget

I like a challenge and I love creating rooms for kids. This design proposal is all about the budget. Only £100 to spend on all products to create a functional, practical and cool space to hang out for a teenage boy.

This is what I came up with.

And the room is tiny. I mean TI.NY. Classified as a single room. So you can imagine. Luckily all the existing furniture is staying so it’s all about the details. I was going for a more “grown up” look but kept some elements of childhood as well. I started with this stunning black and white wallpaper which would be on the feature wall above the bed.

The remaining walls I would keep crisp white for a better contrast. Have a look at the colour combos I’ve put together.

I’ve combined greens with sky blue, grey, red and chocolate brown for more masculine feel.
The idea of the flying planes came from Lucy and Company.

There are few DIY mini projects going on. The first one is the boxed pelmet covered in leftover fabric used on 2 cushions. The fabric is a great bargain considering that 3 items will be made for just £13.45. Then there is the wall art and the paper planes. The rest is all brand new.  A new rug, bed cover, blanket, 3 cushions and table lamp.

This is what it all came up to.

Slightly over but not bad at all.

Does your son need a bedroom update? Let me know I can work with any budget.
