Today I want to mix it up a bit and instead of my usual fashion focus I want to show you Matthew Williamson‘s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. I get lots of inspiration and ideas from fashion and the bolder and more colourful the better. I’ve been following MW on Instagram and he has been sending sneak peaks of this collection which is now available on his online shop and in stores.
Like when you buy a CD and listen to it first time you find that you like some songs more than others. Well this collection is little bit like that. There are some brilliant pieces and some not so everyday/brave/extravagant ones. Here are my favourite pieces.
I love how he uses gemstones (I assume they are gemstones) sewn directly onto the fabric. Sort of jewellery built in. Love that idea. Osborne & Little will launch his latest wallpaper collection soon but I still love his last collection. Great for guest bathrooms to wow your family and friends, or even dining room for added drama and talking point.
You really need to wrap the whole room in this wallpaper. I think feature wall is not enough. So be brave. Maybe start with the downstairs cloakroom. It’s small so you wouldn’t need many rolls but the impact would be just unbelievable. Here is one example of just doing that (designed by Lucy and company).
See what I mean? How did I get here by the way? Starting with fashion and ending with interiors. There is not many designers like him who do both so well. So what do you think? Can you see any pieces you’d wear? What do you think about the wallpaper? I’m happy to source it for you or send you samples.
