Before I start today, my apologies for the lack of posting last week. I took some time off to spend it with my two girls since it was half term. And because the weather was quite rubbish, I took the opportunity to do some well needed house clearance. While at it, we did some room reshuffling upstairs, moving N.B. in our used-to-be office and office in her room (see my last post how this teen room should look like once it’s done). It was such a nightmare getting the stuff across from one room to the other. Plus getting in new furniture, buying accessories and getting both rooms to a liveable standard! But we’re almost there, I should have some before and afters for you end of this week/early next week latest.
Anyway. Today’s post is about some exciting new finds I came across at interiors trade shows in May. I love searching for new unique products through which you can express your personality in your home. Without great suppliers, craftsmen and artisans such these below, the design world would be pretty bland and boring.
Since I was pressed for time (I’m definitely not a slow-take-your-time-all-day-visitor) at these shows, I only took quick pics for my reference. All below is therefore from browsing and taking a closer look at my newly discovered suppliers websites.
Their stain and soil repellent fabrics. Great fabric choice if you have kids.
Love this collection.
NEW COLOURFUL FURNITURE: I’m also adding this new UK manufacturer of oriental furniture and accessories to my long list of suppliers.
NEW MATERIALS: New innovative materials and surfaces gets me going. So inspiring and interesting textures. This company manufactures concrete slabs and tiles in wide range of finish options suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and even furniture design.
I love this gold leaf inlay in concrete. It’s so interesting and the texture combo is so stunning!
I’m so glad I came across this German furniture manufacturer. I absolutely love these chairs.
FOR KITCHENS AND DINING ROOMS: Benches and banquettes are really great for family kitchens and dining rooms. They save space and are practical if you cover them in leatherette.
Staying in the dining room, I absolutely love this dining table. Made from cherry wood, it’s elegant and timeless. Again great for families with kids – no sharp edges to worry about and great solid material which withstands everyday use.
NEW LIGHTING: from high end London based manufacturer of contemporary lighting
I can’t wait to start incorporating these new finds into my projects. Samples are on the way. Happy to source!
