One room challenge: week 4

I’m taking part in One Room Challenge, a makeover event where designers and design enthusiasts makeover one of their rooms while they support each other. I didn’t realise how hard this would be with so many other things and projects going on at the same time. Anyway. If you missed my hallway makeover from the first week, you can catch up on it here –  my week 1 (the proposal design), week 2 (the design process) and week 3 (progress). Now I’m in week 4 and the wallpaper is up as you can see above.

It’s not completely finished but overall it made quite a dramatic change on our landing. So now it’s mainly the finishing touches and lighting. I haven’t decided on what ceiling lighting I’m going to go for but hopefully I will be able to finalise it next week so it’s ready for the final reveal in 2 weeks time. I’ve been collecting some images for inspiration on Pinterest. You can find them all under Hallway Inspiration.  Take a look.

I’m more leaning towards cylinder shade but I have to search the market to see what I can find within my budget. Also I need to start looking at the rug. Originally I had an eye on a pale blue rug from Urban Outfitters but I’m not sure whether is still available. So much to doooooo!!!!

Check out all the other participants by clicking on the logo below. There are some really great designs and great sources of inspiration for your future projects.

I’m off to bed because is so late at night. Please be sure to stop by next week to see more pictures and hopefully my new lighting and rug. And to anyone who comments THANK YOU for your support and opinions, I take them all on board.

Hi Christine, I was more inclining to the cylinder pendants but you know what? I’m going to go for the starburst light as you said. It will go better in the space and will be a nice feature. Thanks for your support! x kb
