One room challenge week 6.

Finally I’m at the finish line. Well, 90%. Still some snugging and final styling to do but I’ve done what I planned to do with this space. So here’s my hallway makeover exactly how it looks today. I must warn you the photos are not the best quality. I spent some time trying to take decent images while it’s so cloudy outside, typical English autumn weather.

First though this is before:

And here’s after:

Now lighting. I made my decision on the lighting pendant last week but it’s currently out of stock. So I tried this lime green number which I upcycled. It originally was brass but that cheap looking brass, you know. So I painted lime green, removed the frosted glass shades and bought these clear incandescent urban bulbs. For now, the light is okay but I can’t wait for my new light to arrive.

I had also problems with the rug I ordered from Urban outfitters as well. The colour is fine but when I tried it the pattern was way too big.

And regarding the staircase. Well it’s not done yet. I’m hoping when my both daughters go back to school next week I will be able to finish it all off. I’m not trying to make any excuses here but for the last 2 weeks I had them both around and instead of cracking on with my One Room Challenge we were out most of the time doing the usual stuff during half term holidays. So once I have finished this project completely I will show you all the pictures then.

If you want to check out all the other participants, you can see their projects here. I personally like this bathroom makeover from The Pink Clutch Blog, this office makeover from Viv Vintage Chic and this master bedroom makeover from Newberry Sykes. I will be browsing through all of them over the next week or so, so I’m definitely will be highlighting some great projects here soon.

Thank you to Linda at Calling it Home for organising the One Room Challenge. It’s been so much fun taking part and also it actually made me take action and do my project at home rather than having ideas floating in my head.
