Project: blue family bathroom

My project “blue family bathroom” has been approved and is well on the way. I will take you through the process from start to finish step by step so you can see what’s involved. So today let me start with the design concept.  The brief was to “make our tired and outdated bathroom more current without any major building work”.

So first of all my starting point are these two floor tiles.

There will be no bathtub, sink or WC replacement. I have to work with the existing set up. In terms of wall colours I can go lighter or darker. Once I’ve seen these images on Pinterest I’m more inclining to go dark. Take a look…

I want to create a crisp modern look. I want to divert the attention to the walls rather than the floor which currently is “the main feature”. The grout is very dark as well so I want the eye to be drawn to the other elements. I think going darker wouldn’t make the bathroom any smaller than it already is because of the white contrast… like per last image above.

Next week I show you the plans, visual boards and all the products which we selected and finalised. Stay tuned.
