West Elm London

Yesterday I finally got time to go to London and visit the newly opened West Elm store. I checked out their website prior to my trip and was hoping to find a nice rug or two for my hallway. Here are some pictures I took…

I really like this sunburst mirror. It’s sort of modern, industrial and urban.

I was thinking about getting this waste basket and the soap dispenser for my new cloakroom makeover project. In the end I wasn’t sure how this metallic finish would look against my Osborne & Little Travertino wallpaper. I think my wallpaper is more beige/golden.

I love their cushions. Especially the marble like patterned ones. They have them in blue (as below) and green.

They have lots of decorative boxes including this one. Absolutely stunning.

I really liked this display arrangement.

Real living plant wall.

I didn’t go home empty handed and got these for my living coffee table. The white mat is from Habitat. I’m going to frame it as a picture.

So my conclusion? I think West Elm is a great place for homeware and accessories in general. In particular, I love their glassware – vases, bottles, the knot, jars. Also I would go there for cushions and bedding. When I saw their rug display I was little bit disappointed because the rug that I had my eye on while on their website wasn’t there and the display area was very small. The showroom is very well organised though and display areas are sorted almost by colours – blue, green, red & pinks, neutrals & browns and white. This helps greatly if you are in a rush (like me) and are looking for a specific colour. Also staff are really helpful, I got talking to one girl. Talked about not just the store but fashion – she complimented me on my orange jeans. I just can’t let go of the summer.
While I was on Tottenham Court Road, I stopped of at Heals and Habitat. They both have sales on now so if you are in the area, grab yourself a bargain. I got the white mats (for dining table) half price for £1.75 each.
I also stopped off at House of Fraser and saw these plates from Pied a Terre. They are 20% off. I thought about it and decided to get these beauties for my Christmas table. Colour and pattern are perfect. Love it.

Have a great day!
